 Summary of Plot:
One night the librarian left a window open. A group of bats gets a late night call from other bats to come and party at the library. They enjoy their night, full of losing thermselves in  books, making shadows on the wall, playing tag in the hall, etc. They enjoy story time as well. Soon it is dawn and there time is gone. They leave, but they anxiously await their next party at the library.
My Reaction to the book:
I read this book the first time in front of a second grade class. They loved it. They wanted to comment on it. At that time they were learning about animals. It is very fun; full of rhyme and personification. The pictures are detailed, darker in color. I was very excited to find this book on the shelf in the library here.
Potential Problems:
Bats might frighten some children.
Recommendations:
This is great for a classroom setting. It is a great book to read to get children back in the swing of things; like after recess or lunch. No moral is attached. It is just a fun book for entertainment. This book has won numerous awards.
